Terms of Service
Last updated: July 16, 2026
Not legal advice. This is a plain-English draft written to match SponsorScout’s actual product mechanics (one-time Polar purchase, dud-replacement guarantee, no ranking claims).
1. What SponsorScout is
SponsorScout (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a lead-discovery and research tool. For a one-time fee, we deliver a batch of vetted “opportunity cards” describing local sponsorship programs — organizations that will place a sponsor logo and link on their website in exchange for payment. Each card includes the organization’s name and URL, the price of the link-bearing sponsorship tier, whether the existing sponsor links were dofollow at the time we checked, how crowded the sponsor page is, the exact purchase process, contact info, and a freshness/last-verified date.
By purchasing or using SponsorScout, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. What we sell — and what we don’t
We sell verified facts and time saved. We do our best to confirm that the organization is real, that a sponsorship program exists, that the price we quote is accurate, and that a link is actually offered at that tier.
We do not sell, promise, or predict search-engine rankings, traffic, or any SEO outcome. Rankings depend on Google’s systems and on your own site — variables we do not control. Google’s link-spam policy treats paid dofollow links as a link scheme; Google may detect and neutralize the SEO value of a paid link at any time, including after you’ve paid for and received it. We report the dofollow/nofollow status of existing sponsor links as observed at our verification time only — we do not warrant it will remain dofollow after your purchase, because that’s a decision made by the sponsored organization after you pay them, not by us.
A sponsorship still carries value beyond any link: community goodwill, a typically tax-deductible marketing expense (consult your own accountant), a brand/entity mention, and occasional referral clicks. We sell you the facts needed to make that marketing decision — you decide whether the bet is worth it.
3. Purchases, pricing, and Merchant of Record
SponsorScout is sold as a one-time purchase (currently $50 per batch of vetted opportunity cards; the exact price and lead count are shown at checkout). There is no subscription unless a plan explicitly says so at checkout.
Payments are processed by Polar (Polar Software Inc.) acting as our Merchant of Record. Polar is the seller of record for tax purposes: it charges applicable sales tax/VAT, issues receipts, and handles payment-method security. Your purchase contract for the transaction itself is with Polar; your service contract for the leads we deliver is with us under these Terms.
4. The dud-replacement guarantee (our only guarantee)
We guarantee the facts on the card, not the outcome of contacting the organization. A card is a dud ( eligible for free replacement) if, at the time we delivered it, any of the following was objectively false:
- the organization’s sponsorship page is dead, 404, or gone;
- no sponsorship program actually exists on the site;
- the price we stated for the link-bearing tier is wrong; or
- no link is actually offered to sponsors at the tier we described.
The following are not duds, and are outside the guarantee — you own these outcomes:
- the organization doesn’t reply to you, replies slowly, or declines your request;
- the link is switched to
nofollow(or removed) after you purchase the sponsorship from the organization — we warrant the status only as observed at our verification, not permanently; - no ranking movement, traffic increase, or other SEO outcome, ever — this is never guaranteed; and
- you decide the organization isn’t a good fit and choose not to buy the sponsorship yourself.
How to report a dud: use the “Report a lead” link in your delivery email or order page within 14 days of delivery, stating which of the four factual defects above applies. We re-verify with a fresh check and, if confirmed, ship a free replacement lead in the same geography/niche within 48 hours. We do not offer refunds by default — replacement is the remedy. If we can’t source a same-tier, same-geography replacement within 7 days of a confirmed dud, we’ll refund that portion of your purchase instead.
5. Acceptable use
Don’t use SponsorScout to break the law, harass or defraud the organizations in our leads, resell or systematically scrape our card data for a competing product, or attempt to circumvent the per-lead buyer caps we use to keep the same sponsorship opportunity from being oversold to too many buyers (this cap protects both you and the sponsored organizations from a spammy, easily detectable footprint). We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
6. Accounts
Some purchase flows don’t require an account — you can complete checkout and access your delivered leads via a private link/token sent to your email. If you do create an account, you’re responsible for keeping your credentials secure. You may delete your account at any time from account settings; see our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.
7. Intellectual property
We retain rights to the SponsorScout software, card format, and website. The factual information on each card (organization names, prices, contact info) is public information we’ve verified, not proprietary to us — you’re free to act on it (e.g., contact the organization and buy the sponsorship). You may not redistribute or resell our compiled card data set as your own product.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is.” We do not warrant that it will be error-free or available without interruption. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost rankings, lost traffic, or lost revenue — consistent with Section 2, we never promised those outcomes in the first place.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with an updated date, and — where practical — emailed to recent buyers.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing a claim, please contact us first at the support email below and give us 30 days to resolve it informally.
